From lab to industrial scale: Yangi secures €10 million to transform packaging

At The Loop Factory, circular innovation only creates real impact when it reaches the market. The journey that became Yangi® started around 10 years ago in our prototyping lab, where we began exploring how fibre-based dry forming could become a scalable alternative to plastics.

Today, that idea has grown into a proven industrial solution. Our spin-off company Yangi, has secured an oversubscribed €10 million Series A round, led by Industrifonden with participation from two global industrial players and Almi Invest GreenTech.

Unlike many early-stage sustainability ventures, Yangi’s Cellera® dry forming technology is already validated and available at an industrial scale. This breakthrough enables packaging producers and converters to replace fossil-based plastics with renewable, fibre-based packaging, without compromising competitiveness in terms of cost or performance.

The results speak for themselves:

  • The first Cellera® machine has been sold to a European converter.

  • Products made with Yangi’s fibre technology have already reached Asian customers.

  • A strong group of industrial and financial partners, including Industrifonden, Almi Invest GreenTech, Voith Paper, CHANEL, FutureLab & Partners, and TURRET OY AB, are backing the next phase of scale-up.

For the industry, this is a clear signal: circular packaging solutions are no longer a vision; they are here, proven, and ready to scale. And for us, it’s proof that The Loop Factory’s model works: from prototyping and development to industrial reality.
