Sustainability policy
This Sustainability Policy was last updated on January 15, 2026.
Our sustainability commitment
Sustainability is the foundation of our business. At The Loop Factory, circularity drives everything we do, from material innovation to textile recycling and industrial solutions.
This page summarises how we manage environmental, social, and economic responsibility in our daily operations and in collaboration with our partners.
Our environmental responsibility
We focus on reducing our own footprint while helping our customers reduce theirs.
Prioritising renewable, energy-efficient solutions in our lab and office, while reducing overall consumption.
Choosing materials and chemicals with care, favouring recycled, renewable and safer options while avoiding hazardous substances.
Designing logistics and travel to minimise emissions. We prefer virtual meetings, trains, and shared rides, and use air freight only when necessary.
Extending the lifespan of equipment and furniture through reuse and repair.
Reducing waste by planning smart, sorting properly, and reusing packaging.
Using AI responsibly, only when it improves sustainability outcomes and supports circular design, while staying mindful of its footprint.
In our daily work, this means reusing packaging, planning shipments to reduce transport, choosing refurbished electronics, and setting clear internal guidance for responsible AI use.
Through our work in material innovation and textile recycling, we contribute to a future where waste is a resource and circular solutions are the norm.
Our commitment to people
We believe innovation thrives in diverse, inclusive, and safe environments. That’s the kind of workplace we are building - together.
We commit to:
Respecting human and labour rights in everything we do.
Maintaining zero tolerance for harassment and discrimination.
Ensuring inclusive, unbiased recruitment and promotion.
Valuing different perspectives and lived experiences.
Prioritising health, safety and well-being - at work and beyond.
Supporting flexible ways of working when possible.
Offering internships and project opportunities for students and young professionals.
Providing clear, accessible ways to raise concerns, including anonymous options.
Every team member plays a part, from how we travel and collaborate to how we select materials and challenge outdated systems.
We regularly review how we work to keep evolving as a fair, human-centred employer.
Circular business & economic resilience
For us, economic sustainability means running a financially sound business that creates long-term value for customers, employees, owners, and society without compromising environmental or social standards.
We do this by:
Putting sustainability, circularity and climate at the core of our strategy.
Investing in new materials, technologies, and circular concepts.
Keeping strong financial management and risk controls.
Evaluating projects and investments not only on financial return but also on their environmental and social impact.
Staying ahead of risks such as resource scarcity, regulatory changes, and climate change.
We believe economic value and environmental value must go hand in hand.
Collaboration is key
We rarely innovate alone. Our impact comes from collaboration with brands, suppliers, research organisations, and other innovators.
Together we:
Co-develop circular pilots and prototypes ready for industrial scale.
Share knowledge and raise the bar across value chains.
We follow EU and international sustainability frameworks and support customers in preparing for upcoming EU regulations, like Ecodesign, EPR and waste directives.
Encourage responsible practices and transparency throughout our networks.
Governance and continuous improvement
Our internal Sustainability Policy is part of our quality management system, and includes more detailed roles, procedures, and guidelines for our team.
We track progress, set new goals, and update our approach as technology and regulations evolve.
