speed up Arena
This project focuses on finding the gaps and strengthening the collaboration within the innovation system in Halland to deliver on region Halland’s smart specialisation areas and to better support the SMEs. There is a large potential to attract public innovation and development funding by boosting the collaboration between the innovation support actors, small and large companies, and the region Halland.
Background
During the Speed Up Halland project, which had a focus on sustainable materials, we have identified that SMEs lack the necessary skills and resources to navigate the complex public innovation support and funding systems. They need customized support to accelerate sustainable innovations that contribute to the smart specialisation areas and a reduced climate impact.
Challenge
Today the innovation support system in region Halland consists of actors that have high skills in different areas, but there is no coherent organisation that can coordinate the efforts and identify the gaps. This will be crucial to contribute to the smart specialisation areas by offering the companies the required support.
Solution
The project involves extensive work on stakeholder engagement and dialogues with innovation actors, public organisations, decision-makers, and the business community. We also recognize the value of collaborating and sharing experiences with stakeholders outside of Halland, particularly in the Västra Götaland region. The smart specialisation area sustainable materials will be used as a pilot area in the project aiming to apply the method to other smart specialisation areas in the future.
result
Our overall goal is to accelerate Halland's green transition by focusing on sustainable materials and circular solutions. The project aims to bring the innovation support systems closer to SMEs and to boost collaboration within the region's innovation system, attracting both new partners and funding for development and innovation projects in Halland.
